A warm welcome.

Mayor’s Message

The historic and cultural town of Ferryland, located in the heart of the Irish Loop of Newfoundland and Labradors Avalon Peninsula, welcomes you to explore all we have to offer in our beautiful and picturesque town. You can hike the many first-class trails in town, including the popular East Coast Trail, go to the top the Gaze for a panoramic view of the community and coastline, or stroll our many beaches in search of sea glass. Be sure to stop and talk with any of our residents for a bit of local flavour and find out why we are known for our hospitality.

While in town, be sure to see and learn about Lord Baltimore 17th Century Colony of Avalon, view one of the oldest stone churches in Newfoundland built in 1865, or take in the locally written and performed Dinner Theatre at the Regional Arts Centre. Stay at one of our many warm and cozy Bed and Breakfasts and if you are looking for a bite to eat, we have many options to suit your taste: Fish and chips at Irish Loop Restaurant, a hearty home cooked meal at the Tetley Tea Room or take a stroll out to the Lighthouse for a gourmet picnic.

Ferryland is not only a place to visit but also a great place to do business, live, work, and play. I trust your time in Ferryland will be a truly memorable experience, one that you will want to share or return to experience again.

"Ferryland is not only a place to visit but also a great place to do business, live, work, and play. "

— Aidan Costello, Mayor of Ferryland
